Property melting pot

22 Jan, 2009 11:54 AM
There are unconfirmed reports suggesting that major northern cattle producer Georgina Pastoral Co, owned by the Hughes and Scott families, has been sold to Macquarie Bank.

It is also rumoured that one of the Hughes’ properties, Comley, was earlier sold to Rockhampton’s Bill Reid for about $32m.

Meanwhile, the widely tipped sale of 90pc of the Packer family’s Consolidated Pastoral Co to British group Terra Firma is thought to have fallen over.
