A YOUNG Quarter Horse mare topped the 4th Nebo Classic Horse Sale on Saturday when she was snapped up for $14,000 by Griff Symonds and Janet Goode, Oxford Downs, Nebo.
Three-year-old chestnut, Winderadeen Leona Lace, offered by Scott Bloxsome, Doubleshaft Station, War-wick, was by Sargent Freck-les (Imp) and out of Winderadeen, and is now destined to be campaigned in the cutting arena.
Saturday's sale saw a total of 57 horses offered and 14 passed in, to achieve a 75 percent clearance rate with an overall average of $4400.
A total of 25 mares averaged $4880 and 18 geldings averaged $3736.
Wet conditions in the lead up to the sale saw 10 horses withdrawn from the original offering.
A working dog sale which preceded the horse sale saw three dogs sold to average $1000.
A 13-month-old Collie/ Kelpie, Nut, offered by Bo and Lisa Hatfield, Vickivale Station, Sarina, topped the dog auction at $1400 when he was bought by Stewart and Kerry Wallace, Brigalow, Clarke Creek.
