NCC Red Brahman bulls top at $50,000

Red Brahman bulls hit $50,000 to average $7357, while red heifers sold to $10,500 for a $4123 average, at yesterday's annual NCC Brahman Sale, Duaringa.

Vendors Brett Nobbs and family, NCC Stud, enjoyed a complete clearance of their catalogue, that boasted a full red genotype, to a two-state buyer panel.

Market topper at $50,000 was the 22-month-old NCC Essex (ET).

The 807kg youngster boasted a 125sq cm EMA reading and fat depth scans of 11/9mm.

Essex, by Letoken Revolution, sold to Chris, Sally and Ashley Kirk, Rockley Stud, Bajool.

Moments later, Jennifer McCamley, Tartrus Stud, Marlborough, outlaid $48,000 for the 810kg, NCC Viking (S) (23-months).

Sale opener at $20,000 was the 932kg NCC Warlock (29-months), which went to the Kinnon family, Bungoona Stud, Clermont.

Mooloo-based NBS Stud, operated by Tim and Sally North, purchased the top female in NCC Zena 1219 (ET)at $10,500.

At 14 months, the Letoken Revolution daughter was one of six heifers bought for an average $6250 by NBS.

David and Joy Deguara, Hamdenvale Brahmans, Mackay, took the $10,000 NCC Anna 1020 (ET) (P) (20-months), while Lincoln and Lisa Job, Marellan, Cumnock, NSW, outlaid the same money for NCC Lizzie 1239 (15-months).

What a fantastic result. Good red cattle. Give me Brahmans over Angus any day. I won't buy McDonalds meat burgers because of the meat they are now supposed to have in them. Give me a grand Brahman burger any day.
