Emerald cancelled for second week

31 Jan, 2012 08:21 AM
MORE widespread rain has forced the cancellation of the weekly Emerald sale, for a second week in a row.

However Terry Ray, Landmark Emerald, is remaining upbeat about the situation.

“The rain is not an abnormal thing in the last few years; it’s been a common occurrence. We’re right in the midst of the wet season.

“We were successful in getting two January sales away before the widespread and intense rain came in,” Mr Ray said.

“Producers are accustomed to rain events at this time of the year. Hopefully next week we will be away with a few more numbers than normal, and we’ll be caught up in no time.

The cancellation of Emerald follows the news that Roma’s store sale, which was scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, has also been cancelled due to wet weather.

Emerald agents are planning the next prime and store sale to be held on Thursday, February 9.
