$60,000 tops Brahman Classic sale

A $60,000 Grey Brahman bull offered by the Fenech family's FBC Stud, Wowan, has topped the inaugural Brahman Classic Sale at Gracemere today.

The 896kg, 31-month-old bull, FBC D Harrison A Manso 749D (ET SA) was bought by Les Smith, Delta Grove Brahmans, Baralaba.

It scanned figures of 9mm and 7mm for rump and rib fat respectively, and an eye muscle area of 140 square centimetres.

The top-priced Red Brahman bull of the sale was the $20,000 Topline Magnum Red Manso 1189 (ET), offered by Topline Brahman Stud, Goovigen, and bought by Eric and Lyn Slack-Smith, Gladevale Station, Richmond.

The top-priced heifer was the red 21-month-old NCC Dienka 759 (Poll), offered by Brett Nobbs, NCC Stud, Duaringa, and bought by Walubial Brahman Stud, Condamine.

The sale saw a total of 138 lots gross more than $828,000, with an average of $6002 and 77pc clearance.
