A Red Brahman bull, Lancefield M Logic 1552 (Scurrs), has topped the 35th annual Tartrus Lancefield sale, selling for $47,000 to Daryl and Lorelle Schubel, Reldarah Red Brahmans, Gin Gin.
The 935kg bull was offered by Matthew and Janelle McCamley, Eulogie, Dululu, and boasted a rump fat scan of 9mm, rib fat of 8mm, eye muscle area of 138 square centimetres, and intra-muscular fat of 2.9pc.
The top-priced grey bull of the sale was Tartrus Navarro 5614, offered by Jennifer McCamley and purchased for $35,000 by Dan and Sally Beauchamp, Allendale, Ingham.
The 31-month-old, 914kg bull scanned with measurements of rump fat of 15mm, rib 10mm, EMA of 131 sq cm, and IMF of 3.8pc.
A total of 168 bulls and heifers were sold on Monday’s sale at Gracemere, with the sale grossing over $1.28 million, and an overall average of $7730.
