22 Jul, 2009 02:34 PM
To celebrate 30 years of research, cattle producers have been invited to CSIRO’s JM Rendel Laboratory in Rockhampton, 20-21 August 2009, to learn about the latest beef research for Northern Australia and its future impact on the industry.

Organised by CSIRO, the Rendel Research Muster is a two-day information, discussion and networking event featuring presentations by scientists, industry representatives and producers.

The comprehensive program which focuses on science solutions for Northern Australia’s beef industry includes sessions on:

  • Generating genetic answers
  • Gearing up for greenhouse gas abatement and carbon trading
  • Remote livestock and invasive pest management
  • Panel Session; ‘How will my kids be running the property in 2030?’

Presenters include key scientists and industry representatives from CSIRO, Meat & Livestock Australia; the Beef CRC; University of QLD; University of WA; Pfizer Animal Genetics; Observant Remote Monitoring Systems; Australian Agricultural Company (AAco); and prominent cattle producers.

* The Rendel Research Muster will start at 1.00 pm on Thursday 20 August and continue into the evening with a BBQ and entertainment. The second day of the program kicks off at 8.30 am and concludes after the Panel Session at 4.00 pm.
