GRAIN growers and advisers are being urged to register now for the popular Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) Update series.
The 2012 series of six northern region GRDC Grower and Adviser Updates will begin in late February and feature a diverse line-up of speakers who will address the key challenges producers and their advisers will face in the year ahead.
Hot topics at this year’s Updates include the carbon tax and carbon sequestration; plant nutrition needs and disease risks for 2012; the latest research into nematodes; and food security and future direction in global trade and the implications for the Australian grains industry.
Local issues relevant to each of the host regions will also be addressed.
Updates will be held in NSW at Dubbo on March 1; Coolah on February 27, Coonamble on February 28 and Nyngan on February 29. In Queensland, Updates will be held at Goondiwindi on March 6-7 and Surat on March 8.
