Graincorp launches harvest pools

14/10/2008 3:51:00 PM
GrainCorp has launched its Harvest '08 wheat, barley and canola pools and confirmed that the company will be running pools for farmers in all mainland states.

GrainCorp managing director Mark Irwin said the pools would live up to their "reputation for performance, transparency and flexibility, and we believe our pools will be very competitive this harvest".

"To reinforce our commitment to transparency, we will be quoting estimated silo returns (ESRs) net of finance costs," Mr Irwin said.

"Where possible we will also be posting gross ESRs to allow growers to compare GrainCorp Pools with those pool providers who only quote gross ESRs."

On the issue of quality pricing, Mr Irwin said that growers have "told us they want reward increments for wheat and we are delivering on that request".

"GrainCorp Harvest 08 Pools will offer protein, moisture and screening increments," he said.
