SCOTT Glasby, Ryan Gill and Stuart Frame are three of the favourites for the open bull ride at the Murphy's Creek Rodeo near Toowoomba on Saturday, March 20.
For the first time, on March 20, a championship points rodeo in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association is being held at Murphy's Creek.
The rodeo starts at 2pm at Fossil Downs at Murphy's Creek.
There is also an APRA points rodeo on Saturday at Cockatoo in Victoria but Murphy's Creek has attracted the most nominations of the two rodeos.
At Murphy's Creek, there are 207 nominations, including 48 in team roping, 25 in the barrel race and 18 in the open bull ride.
Gill's and Frank Biddle are the rough stock contractors for Murphy's Creek.
Warwick cowboy Scott Glasby was the leading Queenslander in APRA bull ride standings last year and qualified for the National Finals Rodeo at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
He is on the bull Nunya Business on Saturday.
Glasby won't get it all his own way at Murphy's Creek as Ryan Gill, of Upper Horton, has drawn Ice and Stuart Frame, of Mundubbera, will aim to go eight seconds on the back of Time Warp.
Frame is also one of the favourites in the bareback along with Bevan Brown, of Cambooya, Matthew Makinson, of Upper Horton, and APRA bareback director Wade Clifford, of Gunnedah.
Lucas Wilson, of Warwick, is second in the saddle bronc standings in the APRA and is one of 15 nominations in the saddle bronc ride.
There are also second-division events in rough stock and timed events at Murphy's Creek.
