Thunderstorms on Tuesday were fewer and much more isolated than on Monday but still had enough energy to dump some heavy rain.
WeatherZone noted that the storms were restricted to the area north of Brisbane along the ranges as far the Gulf Country.
One storm in south Burnett piled 44 millimetres of rain on Jimna in about an hour, their heaviest daily March total in four years.
On Monday widespread storms affected the Darling Downs, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast bringing widespread falls of 15 to 30mm, including the catchment. Somerset Dam gained 30mm.
A few locations had their biggest rain since last year, including Tosari on the Darling Downs with 48mm.
Some storms were big enough to cause damage producing winds to about 85km/h and hail as big as three centimetres in diameter, wiping out apple crops at Stanthorpe.
Storms further north also brought some heavy falls with Emerald picking up 55mm, their heaviest March rain in 12 years.
On Wednesday the storm area will move further north and west as the trough heads inland.
Even though the storms will again be fairly isolated they still have the potential to be severe, bringing damaging winds, large hail and flash flooding.
