Wool's eastern market indicator gained 4c/kg after yesterday's sale in Newcastle, NSW, to now sit at 885c/kg (clean).

According to AWEX, the EMI gained only 0.5pc even though the northern indicator gained 10c/kg to stand at 926c/kg.

There were 4920 bales offered yesterday, of which 3.7pc were passed in, in what was described as a better quality offering than the last sale.

The biggest gains were for the finer types, with AWEX reporting rises of 14c/kg for the 16.5 micron indicator; 18c for the 17m wools; 15c for 18.5m wools; and 13c for 19m wools.
