 Sheepvention turns 30

Sheepvention turns 30

18 Jul, 2008 09:19 AM
On the fourth and fifth of August some 25,000 people are expected through the gates of Victoria's Hamilton Showgrounds for Sheepvention 2008 - the 30th anniversary of the event.

Despite the huge move to cropping in western Victoria, sheep and farm inventions still play a major role in the event, alongside the massive cropping machinery that can also be seen.

Famous for its displays of innovative thinking in both the farm and fashion sectors, Sheepvention remains a great attraction for country people.

This year the invention competition will feature a number of New Zealand entries, one of which, the Perkinz crutchmaster trailer, will be well scrutinised by the masses.

The fashion parades throughout the event also draw huge crowds of both men and women.
