Talking beef genetics on NSW North Coast

22/08/2008 7:59:00 AM
The latest improvements in beef genetics will be the focus of four mini-field days for beef producers on the NSW North Coast this month.

Run by NSW Department of Primary Industries, the four mini-field days will be held on the properties of successful cattle breeders.

Beef cattle officer at Casino, Bill Hoffman said at this time of year is ideal for beef producers as they turn their focus to bull buying and a range of other breeding decisions.

The days will give people an opportunity to discus options with like-minded producers.

The days will be held at:

• Tony Dougherty’s Grafton property on August 29 from 9.30am.

• Jim and Jan Smith’s “Townview” at Urbenville on September 1 from 9.30am.

• Bruce and Sandra Jorgensen’s Mummulgum operation on September 1 from 1.30pm

• Wollongbar Agriculture Institute on September 13 from 9.30am.
