Shorthorn takes Melbourne interbreed glory

29 Sep, 2008 06:05 PM
A strapping Beef Shorthorn bull clinched the supreme beef crown for the Falls family's Malton stud, at the Melbourne Royal Show yesterday.

Malton Cougar 2675 was one of three Shorthorn and Beef Shorthorn exhibits to make it down to the final four in the interbreed.

It edged out an impressive cow with bull calf at foot, exhibited by Spencer Family Shorthorns, for the top gong.

The win rounded off a phenomenal show for the Falls family whose Finley, NSW, stud dominated in the Australian Shorthorn and Beef Shorthorn classes and exhibited two of the final four bulls in contention for senior interbreed bull.
