Chicago wheat futures for delivery Dec 2008 rose by 3pc, to $US8.99/ bus, on Wednesday, on the back of rising corn and soybean markets.
Ongoing concerns over the lack of milling quality wheat for export from Black Sea producers were also bullish for trade on US markets.
And markets also drew some support on reports of further rain delays, which in turn could raise quality issues of the last of the EU wheat harvest.
