Win an Enchanted Kelpie working dog

08 May, 2008 06:00 AM
After the enormous success of last year's competition, Rural Press and the Casterton Kelpie Muster have teamed up again to offer you one of the finest young working dogs in the country, absolutely free!

"Enchanted" is one of the up-and-coming guns of the famous Go Getta working dog stud and at less than five months of age she is already showing confidence and poise amongst both sheep and cattle.

No surprise really, given her stunning pedigree includes proven on-farm dogs who work on sheep and cattle (beef and dairy) properties.

Her pedigree also involves champions who have proven themselves under pressure in competitions across the country, making Enchanted an all round success.

Breeder, Joe Spicer, bought the dam of Enchanted at the Casterton Kelpie auction some years ago, proving the quality on offer at that sale.

He has been astounded by how naturally Enchanted works stock, knowing when to push and when to back off.

It's hard to believe she was born on the 12th of December 2007.

"She is already jumping up and running across the backs of sheep and is a very natural performer and worker with plenty of confidence and instinct.

"A really great dog," he said.

Together with the Pedigree Working Dog Australian Kelpie Muster, Rural Press are offering Enchanted to one lucky reader.

All you need to do is send in the entry form found in The Land, Queensland Country Life, Stock Journal, Stock & Land and Farm Weekly, in the May 8 issues published Thursday.

The winner will be announced at the Muster, in Casteron, Victoria on Sunday, June 8.

Well , she is certainly worthy of commenting. She has been started well and if she developes bite for beef cattle ,I for one would love her. Merv, Riverdale Working Kelpies

What a beauty.

Enchanted certainly looks intelligent, if she can handle cattle I would gladly have her on my property.

I would love to win her as my girl Soozzee is 12yr old and while she tries so hard it is hard to watch her work when I know her arthritis is so bad.

Her previous owner chained her so her shoulders are bad.

enchanted would have to be the cheekiest looking partner for some lucky person for life.

I saw this pup work on Sunday - I hope she is won by someone who will use and develop her to her full potential.
