Described as the Melbourne Cup of the outback Birdsville gets set to hold its annual race meeting.
The 12 race program features top horses from all over Australia competing for the coveted XXXX Gold Birdsville Cup, and in excess of $100,000 in prize monies. Street stalls, Fred Trophy’s boxing.
Arrive early to secure a good campsite and enjoy all the entertainment in the lead up to the big weekend.
The races culminate with a giant auction on the Saturday night raising money for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
